Academic Writing 101

Hey there!

It's been a long time. Hope you are doing great.

Everything is easy when you know how! The skill of academic writing is no exception.

As discuss earlier in my previous blog on academic writing, I have introduce the role of the academic writing in our lives. Particularly, the academic writing plays a crucial role in science and academia as it serves as a primary mode of communication for scholars, scientist, and researchers to share their ideas, findings, and theories with the wider community. It is a formal and precise style of writing that follows specific conventions and guidelines, and is used extensively in all the fields of science and technology.

Academic writing can take various forms, including research papers, theses, dissertations, conference papers, and journal articles. Each type has its own specific purpose and requirements, and requires a clear and concise writing style, proper use of references, and adherence to academic standards.

The importance of academic writing lies in its ability to promote knowledge sharing, advance research and scholarship, and foster critical thinking skills. It enables scholars and researchers to present their work in a structured and organized manner, and facilitates the exchange of ideas and feedback within the academic community.

Academic writing serves various purposes, and it is crucial for writers to be clear about why and for whom they are writing. Moreover, academic writing comes in a variety of forms, and it is essential for an individual to understand the different types of academic writing forms.

MY COLLEGE JOURNEY

MY COLLEGE JOURNEY As I look back on the years gone by, I can’t be thankful enough for them. Professionally and personally, those are the best years I’ve had. Those college years (2016-2020) gaves me a lots of experiences, a lot of memories, a lots of life lessons, and so on. What did you learnt in those years? Can you describe it in one word? For me it is “GRATITUDE”. I discovered that having a deep sense of gratitude for all that you have in a life is a source of profound happiness. As I started my college for the first time in the month of August 2016. I was quiet afraid as I do not want to go the B.Pharm Degree course. But due to the some reasons I took a decision to go to the bachelors of pharmacy degree. From the very first day of my college admission to the till date the my journey of college was very interesting and distinct. On the 8th of July 2016 I took admission to the KVPS Institute of Pharmaceutic...

Journey of Master's: Lessons and Reflections

“Lao Tzu”, once rightly said, “The Journey of Thousand Miles Begins With a Single Step”   Today I’m at the stage of finishing my master's and heading towards a new phase of my life. I still remember the days when I’m in dilemma about choosing the next path of my career after my bachelor's. As my bachelor degree was nearing the finish, I was quite firm about doing my master as on a distance basis from the same institute. But due to the importunity of family members, I opted to go for the regular mode. I still remember the day when (30/1/2021) when I confirm my admission to the college and started my master’s college on regular basis from 5/2/2021 onwards.  Initially, the college was supposed to be on online mode due to the upsurge in COVID-19 cases. Up to June 2021, things are getting normal back. Due to COVID-19, the exam for the first two semesters of the first year was held in online mode (Sessional exams were offline mostly). As already our year has started quite late due t...

2025: A Year in a Nutshell

The time has come to say goodbye to 2025 and welcome 2026. This is the right time to look back at the year, think about what happened, and prepare for what is coming next. For the last two years, I have built a habit of reviewing my year and learning from it. This moment helps to remember what I did, what I missed, and what I still want to do. I truly believe this is the time to learn from the past and get ready for the future. Reflection is not only about success. It is also about emotions, mistakes, lessons, strength, and growth. So it is important to pause, think, and move ahead with better understanding. Like always, 2025 passed very fast. It feels like it just started and now it is ending. Every year teaches something. Sometimes it feels light and happy. Sometimes it feels heavy and difficult. But every year shapes us in some way. At the beginning of 2025, I had many resolutions. Some I completed, some I could not. That is completely fine. Life does not always follow our plans. Wh...
