The Beauty of Reading Books

Happy World Book Day, everyone!

Today, I want to share with you the profound impact that books have had on my life. I want to emphasize the importance of books and what they are capable of, using my own experience as an example.

During my college years, I only read books and related materials like notes to pass my exams and get good grades. I had never been an avid reader and found it challenging to read anything outside of my academic notes. However, in 2019, I was fortunate enough to met someone who inspired me to develop a habit of reading for pleasure. I was greatly inspired by that individual and I started by imitating his reading habits and choose books that interested and fascinated me, particularly non-fiction and autobiographies.

Initially, I felt lost and confused about whether reading would benefit me or not. There were moments when I questioned my reading habits, wondering if it was worth it. But then I met a few more people who rekindled my love for reading and inspired me to develop a strong reading habit. They emphasize the importance of cultivated mind to me. Since then, books have become an integral part of my life.

The evolution of this blog is result of my book reading habit. Writing is something that I acquired from the reading. Because reading allows us to develop an immense vocabulary and filled us with an ample amount of information that we want to convey to the masses. Reading provides the foundation and inspiration for creating our own written works. Additionally, the reading is something which instilled me with an enough amount of confidence to put my view in the form of public speaking or formal speaking. So speaking and writing are the two essential things which I learned through the habit of book reading. Moreover, there are so many benefits and importance of the reading books which make an individual way different than others who did not read the books.

Talking more about the books that, books are the integral part of the lives of many successful people, and there are numerous real-life incidents that demonstrate their importance. For instance take an example of Elon Musk a business mogul who is fond of books and reading, and whatever he is today he gives credit of this to the books that he read. In another case, Warren Buffett, the billionaire investor, is known for his love for books. He spends five to six hours a day reading and has said that he spends about 80% of his day reading. In an interview, he once said, "I just sit in my office and read all day. Like this there are several peoples around the world who have immense love and interest for the books and reading.

Books are always the source of strength and knowledge.  Reading something about the topic which we are not familiar makes us wiser than others, who are in the same boat with us. Books have strength to change the fate of world.

Ernest Hemingway, has rightly said that, There is no friend as loyal as book, because books are with you in your good and bad, thick and thin. Books never betray or abandon you. They are always there for you, ready to offer you comfort, knowledge, and entertainment whenever you need them. Books and readings are such underrated habits have potential to change the fate of entire world. Reading books make an individual a good speaker, writer, thinker and beyond that a great human being. Books have immense to offer us they are equipped with everything that we want. We just need to put over hand towards them and let them make a part of our life.

More recently, I came across the statement made by the Billionaire investor Marc Andreessen on why people should read more books in that he stated:

"There are thousands of years of history in which lots and lots of very smart people worked very hard and ran all types of experiments on how to create new businesses, invent new technology, new ways to manage etc.

They ran these experiments throughout their entire lives. At some point, somebody put these lessons down in a book. For very little money and a few hours of time, you can learn from someone’s accumulated experience. There is so much more to learn from the past than we often realize. You could productively spend your time reading experiences of great people who have come before and you learn every time."

Importantly books are not just a source of entertainment and knowledge, but also a means of education, personal growth, and cultural exchange. They have the power to teach us about history, anthropology, science, technology, art, philosophy, culture, heritage, beliefs, and countless other subjects. They can challenge our assumptions, broaden our perspectives, and help us understand people their stories, different cultures and their backgrounds.

In nutshell reading books can help individuals develop important skills such as critical thinking, empathy,  personal development, and communication. By exposing themselves to new ideas and perspectives, individuals can become more open-minded and knowledgeable, while also developing their ability to think independently and make informed decisions based on evidence and reason. This can lead to personal growth and success both personally and professionally.

Happy Reading!!

Until next time,

MY COLLEGE JOURNEY

MY COLLEGE JOURNEY As I look back on the years gone by, I can’t be thankful enough for them. Professionally and personally, those are the best years I’ve had. Those college years (2016-2020) gaves me a lots of experiences, a lot of memories, a lots of life lessons, and so on. What did you learnt in those years? Can you describe it in one word? For me it is “GRATITUDE”. I discovered that having a deep sense of gratitude for all that you have in a life is a source of profound happiness. As I started my college for the first time in the month of August 2016. I was quiet afraid as I do not want to go the B.Pharm Degree course. But due to the some reasons I took a decision to go to the bachelors of pharmacy degree. From the very first day of my college admission to the till date the my journey of college was very interesting and distinct. On the 8th of July 2016 I took admission to the KVPS Institute of Pharmaceutic...

Journey of Master's: Lessons and Reflections

“Lao Tzu”, once rightly said, “The Journey of Thousand Miles Begins With a Single Step”   Today I’m at the stage of finishing my master's and heading towards a new phase of my life. I still remember the days when I’m in dilemma about choosing the next path of my career after my bachelor's. As my bachelor degree was nearing the finish, I was quite firm about doing my master as on a distance basis from the same institute. But due to the importunity of family members, I opted to go for the regular mode. I still remember the day when (30/1/2021) when I confirm my admission to the college and started my master’s college on regular basis from 5/2/2021 onwards.  Initially, the college was supposed to be on online mode due to the upsurge in COVID-19 cases. Up to June 2021, things are getting normal back. Due to COVID-19, the exam for the first two semesters of the first year was held in online mode (Sessional exams were offline mostly). As already our year has started quite late due t...

2025: A Year in a Nutshell

The time has come to say goodbye to 2025 and welcome 2026. This is the right time to look back at the year, think about what happened, and prepare for what is coming next. For the last two years, I have built a habit of reviewing my year and learning from it. This moment helps to remember what I did, what I missed, and what I still want to do. I truly believe this is the time to learn from the past and get ready for the future. Reflection is not only about success. It is also about emotions, mistakes, lessons, strength, and growth. So it is important to pause, think, and move ahead with better understanding. Like always, 2025 passed very fast. It feels like it just started and now it is ending. Every year teaches something. Sometimes it feels light and happy. Sometimes it feels heavy and difficult. But every year shapes us in some way. At the beginning of 2025, I had many resolutions. Some I completed, some I could not. That is completely fine. Life does not always follow our plans. Wh...
