The Richard Feynman: Life lessons

Today is the 104th birth anniversary of the fabulous Richard Feynman. Who was famous for many things like his writings, winning Nobel Prize etc, but his biggest achievement? He made science fun and easy!

This blog is a tribute to the legendary teacher, intelligent scientist, and great human being. There are very few peoples who have a remarkable impact of their lives on others. What they have achieved great in their life make them an idol for others.

This blog is dedicated to the great human being who has impacted tremendously on the lives of thousands. This blog is dedicated to the Nobel prize winner Richard Feynman who was the finest teacher I have ever known.

I started to research him only when I came across his Twitter handle called @ProfFeynman.

It was then that I realized Richard Feynman's magnetism as a human being and as a scientist. I was attracted by the notion that he was one of those exceedingly exceptional human creature who were born just once in a century. Not only did he have the capacity to simplify complex subjects and explain them to laymen, but he was also a fantastic artist. The scientist was a memorable guy who I will never forget.

I have learned so many life lessons from Richard Feynman through his lectures, blogs, and writings on it.

Through his experiences of physics, life, and love he try to give lifetime lessons for the community. He was always a great human being and had achieved each any everything nearly in his life.

Depicted in his autobiography Surely You’re Joking Mr. Feynman! he had beautifully listed the life lessons which he acquired over the course of his life. Following are some lessons one should learn from him.
  • “Education isn’t about the ability to remember and repeat, in which people study to pass exams, and teach others to pass exams, but nobody knows anything. It is the ability to learn from experience, to think, solve problems, and use our knowledge to adapt to new situations.”
According to his memoirs, Feynman discussed this on his visit to Brazil. He discusses the Brazilian education system here, but I believe it is equally relevant to many schools and institutions throughout the world. We place so much emphasis on examinations and marks that we neglect the importance of learning something new. The actual meaning of education, according to Feynman, is the ability to think, doubt, question, and discover, rather than just memorising knowledge to pass tests.

  • “You have no responsibility to live up to what other people think you ought to accomplish. I have no responsibility to be like they expect me to be. It’s their mistake, not my failing.”
We always burden ourselves with people’s expectations from us when at the end of the day the only thing that really matters is what we think and perceive about ourselves. If you cannot stand up to someone else’s expectations, it isn’t your fault. What’s more important in life is to set goals for oneself, fail, make mistakes and learn from those mistakes.
  • Stand for what is right, Even if it means standing alone.
  • Life is too short to worry about stupid things. Have fun, fall in love, regret nothing, and most importantly don't let people bring you down. Study, think, create, and grow. Teach yourself and teach others.
Five Feynman rules for Life:

i) Take mistakes as Lessons.
ii) Focus is the key.
iii) Study hard what interests you the most.
iv) Don't worry about what other people think.
v) Skills are more valuable than your grades.

A still from his one of physics lecture

My only notion behind writing this blog is to put a light on Feynman's eternal personality and how one can learn numerous lessons from him by following his teachings, lessons to mankind which are avail online. There is so much to write about him but it is mandatory for the one to stop somewhere, hence I stop hereby.

If you follow him and implement his lessons in your life, I will be sure that your life will be going to be 1% better than the one you live in now.

Sometimes I even thought that I might know about him quite later in my life, but I feel fortunate to learn several lessons over the year after following his principles.

If you are a student and find it difficult to learn new things or find it hard to study then

The Feynman Technique: The Best Way to Learn Anything  is the best way to learn everything very easily and simply

You can see this technique here and apply it in your learnings, I will assure you that you will be benefited from it.

MY COLLEGE JOURNEY

MY COLLEGE JOURNEY As I look back on the years gone by, I can’t be thankful enough for them. Professionally and personally, those are the best years I’ve had. Those college years (2016-2020) gaves me a lots of experiences, a lot of memories, a lots of life lessons, and so on. What did you learnt in those years? Can you describe it in one word? For me it is “GRATITUDE”. I discovered that having a deep sense of gratitude for all that you have in a life is a source of profound happiness. As I started my college for the first time in the month of August 2016. I was quiet afraid as I do not want to go the B.Pharm Degree course. But due to the some reasons I took a decision to go to the bachelors of pharmacy degree. From the very first day of my college admission to the till date the my journey of college was very interesting and distinct. On the 8th of July 2016 I took admission to the KVPS Institute of Pharmaceutic...

Journey of Master's: Lessons and Reflections

“Lao Tzu”, once rightly said, “The Journey of Thousand Miles Begins With a Single Step”   Today I’m at the stage of finishing my master's and heading towards a new phase of my life. I still remember the days when I’m in dilemma about choosing the next path of my career after my bachelor's. As my bachelor degree was nearing the finish, I was quite firm about doing my master as on a distance basis from the same institute. But due to the importunity of family members, I opted to go for the regular mode. I still remember the day when (30/1/2021) when I confirm my admission to the college and started my master’s college on regular basis from 5/2/2021 onwards.  Initially, the college was supposed to be on online mode due to the upsurge in COVID-19 cases. Up to June 2021, things are getting normal back. Due to COVID-19, the exam for the first two semesters of the first year was held in online mode (Sessional exams were offline mostly). As already our year has started quite late due t...

2025: A Year in a Nutshell

The time has come to say goodbye to 2025 and welcome 2026. This is the right time to look back at the year, think about what happened, and prepare for what is coming next. For the last two years, I have built a habit of reviewing my year and learning from it. This moment helps to remember what I did, what I missed, and what I still want to do. I truly believe this is the time to learn from the past and get ready for the future. Reflection is not only about success. It is also about emotions, mistakes, lessons, strength, and growth. So it is important to pause, think, and move ahead with better understanding. Like always, 2025 passed very fast. It feels like it just started and now it is ending. Every year teaches something. Sometimes it feels light and happy. Sometimes it feels heavy and difficult. But every year shapes us in some way. At the beginning of 2025, I had many resolutions. Some I completed, some I could not. That is completely fine. Life does not always follow our plans. Wh...
